Application System Engineer

Job description

As an Application System Engineer, your primary responsibility is to help guarantee the availability, capacity and security of the ExtraFilm.com applications. In this job there will be opportunities for your input and initiative. You work in Wetteren in a very internationally minded, rapidly expanding company.

Tasks

• installing and managing the ExtraFilm.com applications in staging and production environments;
• managing the migration roll-out plan from one platform release to the next release;
• in collaboration with other colleagues, conducting load testing on a dummy and production environments;
• analyze problems and provide feedback to the eCom Support help desk;
• reporting on user experience and performance issues on the real-life environment.

Requirements

• independent and pro-active work ethic;
• academic level of thinking and working;
• 3+ years experience with Microsoft;
• 2+ years experience with relational databases (preferably MS-SQL, replication, clustering);
• knowledge of (and experience with) mail relay systems;
• working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewalling; some load balancing experience would help;
• experience with SOAP, Web-Services;
• programming/scripting ability (preferably ASP. NET, C#, VB);
